Here at Rhema Church Scotland we are looking forward eagerly and expectantly to our annual Faith Convention, in November 2017. The Convention known as ‘Legacy of Faith’ is held over the closest weekend to the 6th November. As this was the date, in 2008 that our beloved Pastor – Reverend Dr. Peter Hadden went home to be with the Lord.
Pastor Peter was a great visionary and a man of Faith. He left us with an amazing legacy through his teaching and input into our lives – hence the Faith Convention has been called ‘Legacy of Faith’ in honour and out of respect for him and his ministry and what he has imparted to us and to this church. Pastor Peter was a man who ran the race not only spiritually but physically and in November of each year, he would run the ‘New York Marathon’ to raise monies for Dr. Lester Sumrall’s organisation, ‘Feed the Hungry’, this he did for more than 15 years.
This year’s convention will take place over the weekend of 3rd – 5th November, and our guest speakers for this year’s convention will be Pastors Jess and Paula Gibson from the USA.
Pastor Jess Gibson has been teaching the uncompromising truth of God’s Word for over four decades. His ministry stretches far beyond the borders of Springfield, Missouri, having preached in numerous countries and serving on the board of several major ministries and committees.
Dynamic! This one word most often used to describe Pastor Jess Gibson's speaking talents. His strong faith based messages always challenges and motivates audiences and has the ability to relate in a very practical manner to his listeners. His messages are relevant to the times we live in, easy to understand, yet very stimulating. His delivery is unique and he is able to identify with his audience.
Pastor Gibson is in demand as a speaker for churches, religious and secular organizations, conferences, and seminars around the world. He has led several tours to Israel and the Middle East. He and his wife Paula are actively involved in Christian/Israel relationships. He serves as Chairman of the International Board of Directors for the Israel based Bridges for Peace Ministry. His background includes a career in radio, television, and business. Pastor Gibson is author of 4 books, including the bestselling "Coaching Champions-the privilege of mentoring" now in its third printing. He and his wife, Paula, live in Springfield and have 4 children, 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grand-children.
